Corporate Finance – Placement Opportunity

Spence & Partners (Spence) was established in 2000 and is a privately owned UK firm of actuaries, pension consultants, pension scheme IT specialists and administrators. We are part of an integrated group of companies that includes Dalriada Trustees Limited (Dalriada) a leading independent trustee, with offices in, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and London, and Veratta Limited, a data management, information security, software development and IT support business also in the pensions and financial services industry with clients throughout the UK and Ireland.

About the role
Spence can offer you a placement opportunity that is the first step in a rewarding career, with many of our placement students wishing to return to continue working with us after Graduation.
You will provide support to the corporate finance team in lots of aspects of processing accounting transactions and periodic reporting on financial information.
You will be working with a small team with qualified accountants who are willing to share their knowledge, train you according to our processes and provide a supportive environment to develop new skills.
- On track for 2:1 or above in a relevant degree.
- GCSE and A Level Maths Grade A or above
- Proven technical and academic ability illustrated through grades and achievements.
- Evidence of proactive extra curricular learning and engagement in chosen career path.
- An obvious interest in the industry in which we operate.
- Excellent knowledge of computerised systems e.g. Microsoft Office/Windows applications, in particular Excel.
- Relevant Work Experience.
- Attending events, seminars, self study to promote knowledge in area of interest.

Working hours, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Placement Salary: £15,000.
There is a three month probationary period from commencement of employment.
As part of the pre-hire process the successful candidate will be subject to reference checking security vetting.
